The newly launched Experience Singapore™ programme is ideal for university students who want to get more out of their school breaks, spending up to 6 months working, living and playing in Singapore! Not only do you make friends with young adults from all around the world, you will also have the chance to learn of one another’s cultures. Participants get to experience the unique aspect of our Singapore culture and lifestyle and get a feel of their distinctive Singaporean identity as well.
Who? All full-time students who are either currently studying in OR has recently graduated from an approved university from the following 8 countries:-
· Australia · France · Germany · Hong Kong · Japan · New Zealand · The United Kingdom · The United States of America
You may also apply if you have gained admission to the university but have not commenced your studies.
You will qualify as well, if you are a full-time student or recent graduate from the universities on the list, even if you are not a citizen of those mentioned countries.
When? Year Round
What? Experience Singapore™ is a pilot programme supporting working holiday makers from the abovementioned 8 countries. Participants get to work and live in Singapore for a period of up to 6 months.
With Dorgan help, you could spend 6 months interning in a true-blue Singaporean firm gaining invaluable experience of your lifetime, basking under the sun on the shores of Siloso beach in Sentosa, or even cheering under the stars for your favourite Formula 1 driver in the Singapore F1 Grand Prix Night Race! Not forgetting your weekend adventures of exploring the rich heritage of our respective ethnic districts!
Experience Singapore™ offers:
• Pre-arranged Jobs (optional)
Opting for pre-arranged jobs can give you a peace of mind knowing you have work lined up for you the moment touch down in Singapore. You will also have the ease of arranging accommodation etc, prior to your arrival.
If you would prefer to seek employment yourself after arriving in Singapore, Dorgan will also provide advice and the necessary materials you need in your doing so.
• Application of a WHP Pass
The Working Holiday Programme (WHP) Pass is the official pass that allows working holiday makers to work and travel during their stay here in Singapore. Dorgan will provide assistance and advice on your application of a WHP Pass.
• Expert Advice, Help and Support
Our staff in the Singapore office will help you prepare for your trip, as well as offer help and support, as well as necessary assistance during your stay here.
• Orientation
Orientation to help you settle into Singapore. Orientation kits (a.k.a. the survival kit) will be provided!
• The opportunity to spend 6 months on sunny island, Singapore!
• Discounted Travel Products
You will have access to our in-house travel agents for discounted travel products to neighbouring countries during your stay here.
• Emails and invitations to social events with fellow participants, i.e. pubmeets, concerts, movie nights, weekend outings and excursions, festival celebrations, etc.
Work and Accommodation
Job opportunities/positions are available in various industries; there is generally no restriction on what kind of jobs you can undertake (that said, illegal work and/or work that require special licences are of course not allowed). From casual work as a bar/wait staff to office jobs in the IT/Marketing/Advertising/Sales department, the choice is entirely yours!
